Sanjiv K. Sharma
M.D. – Principal Investigator

Dr. Sharma has been involved in memory research since 2009. In 2013, he started AMRI as the principal investigator. Since then he has worked on over 35 memory related protocols. Dr. Sharma has his board certification in internal medicine as well as geriatric medicine. He is passionate about caring for patients and families who are worried about memory loss.

Dr. Sharma graduated from Mahatma Gandhi Medical Memorial College in Jamshedpur, India and completed his residency in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In 2000, Dr. Sharma opened his private practice, Geriatric Medical Center, in Toms River, New Jersey.


Lal Ramani
M.D. – Associate Director of Clinical Research

Dr. Ramani has over 40 years of experience working as a Medical Examiner, Hospital Administrator and Alzheimer’s Disease Scientist. He has acquired a vast amount of research experience with Alzheimer's patients at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and at the Cleveland Clinic before joining AMRI. He has experience in many areas of clinical research administration, including organizing and overseeing clinical operations, promoting Good Clinical Practices in the conduct of clinical investigations, and ensuring site adherence to protocol procedures, requirements, and timelines.


Anna Brocco
Pharm.D., MBA - Director of Operations & Clinical Research

Anna is a graduate of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, with her doctorate in pharmacy and also a master's in business. Throughout pharmacy school and after graduation, Anna worked at Community Medical Center as a staff pharmacist specializing in IV medication preparation. Anna has brought her pharmacy skills to the office to assist in preparing and dispensing study medications. She is committed to research and works to bring new studies to our center to provide opportunities for all patients to participate. She is dedicated to the patients and families of AMRI and works hard to ensure that everyone's experience to our center is a pleasant one.


Chamerra Johnson
Operations Manager

Chamerra graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Health Education Certificate from Rutgers University. She has over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Chamerra's background in patient access, compliance, administration, and operations management combined with her passion for advancing public health has settled well in clinical research. She is devoted to improving internal operations and developing AMRI to further our mission to provide comprehensive care and resources to a wider range of patients and families.


Maryann Diaz
Executive Business Administrator

Maryann received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Rutgers University and has spent the majority of her professional career working in the non-profit addictions advocacy field. Her dedication to enhancing the lives of the underserved and underrepresented populations makes her an ideal fit for AMRI. She is eager to learn and absorb as much as she can about the important work being done here and brings with her a desire to give each and every person who walks through AMRI’s front door a pleasant experience.


Victoria Dioguardi
LPN - Clinical Research Coordinator & Neuropsychometric Rater

Vickie graduated from nursing school in 1970 and has worked in all areas of nursing, specializing in the care of the elderly with a keen desire to improve their quality of life. She is a research professional with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in Memory Loss and Alzheimer's Disease. Vickie has also worked with Phase I-III of clinical trials as a coordinator, as well as a rater/psychometrician. Vickie is a proactive team player with strong organizational skills, dedicated to her patients and research projects. She is also a well-established member of New Jersey's Clinical Research community.


Elisabeth Storey
Clinical Research Coordinator

Elisabeth is new to the field of research, but she has learned to manage all aspects of memory care. Her compassionate and friendly attitude has been welcomed by our patients and families. Elisabeth has a background in social work where she worked with at risk youth and adults with disabilities to help prepare them for job placement. Her patience and case management skills have made her a perfect study coordinator for AMRI.


Lauren Bawiec
Clinical Research Coordinator

As a recent graduate from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Lauren’s educational coursework and various internship and volunteer experiences have helped her succeed in the Clinical Research Coordinator role. Passionate about Public Health, she is committed to improving the lives of many by providing individualized treatment and care to patients and families.


Julia Carey
Clinical Research Coordinator

Julia is new to the field of clinical research, but is able to apply previous work experience to allow her to succeed in the role of a clinical research coordinator. Prior to her joining the team at AMRINJ, Julia was a licensed pharmacy technician for over six years. With an in-depth understanding of the importance of patient care and compliance policies, Julia is dedicated to delivering personalized treatment and care to each and every patient.


Rachele Dickinson
Clinical Research Coordinator

Rachele is a recent graduate of Stockton University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. She is new to the field of research, but with a wide range of educational coursework and previous volunteer experience she is able to transition into the role of Clinical Research Coordinator seamlessly. Rachele is committed to providing patients and their families with the best care possible in order to enhance their experience at AMRINJ and improve their quality of life.


Samantha Gutt
Clinical Research Associate

Samantha will graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2019 with her doctorate in pharmacy. Her previous experiences include working in ambulatory care and medication safety. Due to her comprehensive clinical knowledge regarding medications and disease state management, she is dedicated to providing safe and high-quality patient care.


Caitlyn Wojcik
Clinical Research Educator

Caitlyn graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and a minor in Business from Montclair State University. Prior to AMRINJ, Caitlyn has had experience working with a home healthcare facility, an outpatient addiction treatment center, and a health department. Caitlyn has always had a passion for research and expanding her knowledge about current diseases, conditions, and their treatment that need further investigation. With her kind heart and motivation to improve public health, Caitlyn is committed to help patients and their loved ones get the care they deserve.


Amie Green
Regulatory Specialist

Amie has over 20 years of experience in the clinical research field. She began working as the lab technician for a research office and then moved into her specialty of regulatory. Amie worked as an in-house CRA at a clinical research organization. She then returned to the site level as a study coordinator and regulatory specialist. Amie's exceptional organizational skills ensure that our site is compliant in all regulatory areas and that the quality of our work is the best in the business.


Jacqueline Massa
Ph.D. – Neuropsychometric Rater

Jacqueline Massa, Ph.D. has over 16 years of experience assessing and diagnosing cognitive and emotional disorders. She also has experience as both a principal and sub-investigator on original grant funded and clinical trials research. She earned her doctorate in Cognitive Neuroscience from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York and completed two fellowships in neuropsychological assessment and functional brain mapping/neuromodulation. She has numerous national and international publications and has presented at conferences in both North America and Europe. In 2009, she received the Emerging Researcher Award from the New Jersey Psychological Association. At AMRI, she is involved in neurocognitive ratings, memory evaluations, and assisting study coordination.


Raji Varghese
BDS, CCRC – Neuropsychometric Rater

Raji graduated from dental school in 1996. He has over 16 years of clinical experience and 6 years of research experience. Raji holds three International Publications in Neurology. At AMRI, he is involved in neurocognitive ratings, assisting in study coordination, lab support and quality assurance. Raji's commitment to the highest standards of clinical research provides strong support and guidance to the participating patients and their families.


Ed Austin
MS, BSN, CCRC - Neuropsychometric Rater

Ed Austin has 8 years of experience in clinical research, including trial conduct, safety monitoring, recruitment, data management, and project management. He is skilled in all study-related clinical procedures, trail project evaluation, initiation, routine and termination for Phases I-IV trials. Ed's healthcare and clinical background combined with his medical research experience serves as a solid base to provide the best quality services to participants as well as to adhere to the industry's highest standards. He is involved in AMRI's neurocognitive ratings, case reporting, tracking, lab support, data clarification, and quality assurance for Phase III and IV trials.


Theresa Kessler
Lab Technician

Theresa has been working with Dr. Sharma since the establishment of AMRI. She makes sure that all information and options are thoroughly explained to you before any care begins.

Her expertise, coupled with her warm and friendly way, will put you at ease so that you can focus on the important issue - getting and staying healthy!
